"From Rising Talent"

Featuring Claire E Ryterski

Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 7:30 PM

Join us for the opening of our 57th season as we enjoy the wonderful talents of Claire Elizabeth Ryterski, our 2019 Talent Amoung us winner.   She will be singing "Steal me, sweet thief", from opera "The Old Maid and the Thief", by Gian Carlo Menotti (Italian-American).

Soprano Claire Elizabeth Ryterski is a senior Vocal Performance and Music Therapy major at Western Illinois University, where she studies with Assistant Professor of Voice Dr. Penelope Shumate. Miss Ryterski’s recent engagements include performing the role of Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro with the WIU Opera Theatre, performing excerpts of Messiah with the WIU Chamber Orchestra, and performing the roles of Hansel and Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel with the WIU Opera Theatre. She was a national semi-finalist of the 2019 NATS competition, an Encouragement Award recipient of the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a 2018 1st Place division winner of the Central Region NATS competition, and a 2017-2018 winner in the WIU Concerto and Aria Competition. Miss Ryterski is very excited to be performing as a featured soloist with the Jacksonville Symphony Society as the Grand Prize Winner of the Talent Among Us competition!
