An Evening of Song and Marimba
May 9, 2026 - 7:30 pm
Rammelkamp Chapel, Illinois College

We conclude our 63rd season with a return performance by acclaimed lyric tenor J. Warren Mitchell. All of you in the JSO
audience loved his program in 2018, and you will thrill to his commanding return featuring his soaring, dramatic voice. In
addition, the concert will also feature the World Premiere performance of Bounce, a marimba concerto by Jacksonville
composer and Illinois College Professor Emeritus Timothy Kramer, written for the JSO and our soloist, Tyler Carpenter, Jacksonville native, I.C. Drumline Director & Instructor of Percussion, and principal percussionist of the JSO. You don’t want to miss this exciting evening of song plus a World Premiere!
